Sporting two Elite foals and 13 Premium foals, the 2017 Oldenburg Château de Fontaine foal inspection proved to be a smash success.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Inge Workel Assistant to the German Oldenburg Verband’s breeding director and Dr. Evelin Schlotmann, member of the Oldenburg Licensing committee, for an evening Foal Inspection at the Estate.

Once again our delightful foals did us proud, not only did they demonstrate their dressage potential while behaving superbly, they also very much charmed and impressed the two judges, “We find the Château de Fontaine foal collection very interesting” said Workel smilingly after the inspection, “Garland and Filippa de Fontaine were both awarded with the Elite Award, based on their modern types, correct legs and expressive movements,” Workel willingly explained, “Coincidentally they are both out Fine Time, an Oldenburg who was one of the most impressive mares at the 2016 World Breeding Dressage Championships for 5 year old horses”.

“We are very enthusiastic about the Château de Fontaine x Helgstrand Dressage project, and love to support the idea of having elite sport mares in breeding, it’s something we’re happy to be a part of.” Said Workel who’s on a previous occasion has visited Helgstrand Dressage, Denmark, to enter the sporting mares in the studbook.

It’s an absolute thrill to have such a strong 2017 collection of Oldenburg foals and we look forward to watch them all develop. A huge thank you to our small team for their effort and dedication, we couldn't do any of this without them.
